After finishing my fine arts degree and my division one gymnastics career at the University of New Mexico, I\u00a0started my photography career. My approach to photography is always to create images that are filled with color, laughter and fun. Something that my clients would proudly hang upon their wall for generations.<\/p>\n
… Over 10 years ago (on 11\/11\/2005) I started my main company, 211 Photography. In 2009 I opened my first Bloom Portraits studio in Denver Colorado. My partner and I opened The Corner Framing in 2011, which is a full service custom frame shop conveniently located\u00a0right here at 211 and Bloom. In 2012, I opened my second Bloom Portraits studio in Wayzata, MN in the beautiful Lake Minnetonka area.<\/p>\n
I am lucky to have so many amazing clients, friends, family and employees that help me fulfill my dreams everyday and assist me in revolving my life and career around something I am so passionate about!<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n\u00a0Q: What is the hardest part about owning a photography business?<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\nA. I think after 10 years I\u2019ve got it down but I would have to say trying to please everyone. As business owners we are so emotionally invested and when there is a bump in the road we tend to take it more personal.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\nQ: When did you decide you wanted to pursue your career in photography and what inspired you to do it?<\/div>\nA. I was two things in life before becoming a photographer; a gymnast and a waiter. I always loved and excelled in art growing but when I went to college for gymnastics I couldn\u2019t fit art studio classes into my schedule. When you train 40+ hours a week and go to college full time there is not enough time to take art studio classes which tend to be 2-3 hour classes. When Title 9 ended our gymnastics program I found myself with a lot more time on my hands so I decided to take a photography class (I failed it by the way, F) At the same time I was ending my gymnastics career I was also still in the closet with being gay and struggled with finding myself at that time. I failed out of college and was forced to take a semester off. During that time period I found myself. When I went back to re-take Photo 101 I took that opportunity to deal with a lot of insecurities within myself. I found an outlet through photography that allowed me to express myself in ways that I wasn\u2019t able to before. That was the moment that drove my new passion into photography.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\nQ: If you could do any photography project (other than what you do now) what would it be?<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\nA. I would love to be a photographer for a travel magazine.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\u00a0Q: What is your guilty pleasure?<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\nA:\u00a0Nacho cheese dip in my guilty pleasure.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\u00a0Q: Did you have any nicknames when you were growing up?<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n9. My nickname was Shorty. Hard to believe because I am now 6\u20191\u201d but I was pretty short until I was 16.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n
