Meet The Team! | Megan

Square Staff Photo

Hi! My name is Megan! I’ve been a photographer here at Bloom Portraits since April 2016, but I’ve been a photographer my entire life. I graduated from Penn State University in 2005 with a degree in Journalism. I’ve worked for Sears Portraits and have done freelance photography since Penn State graduation.

Fun fact, I am one of those new Denver transplants! I just moved to Denver from Los Angeles in January of this year. Why? It was time for a life change and even though I REALLY miss the LA sun, music and pie…BUT Denver has become the perfect place to build my new life, fall in love and write about it all.

Along with being a photographer, I am also a writer. I have a blog that I began in 2012 entitled The Nerdy Girlie. My blog focuses on pop culture conventions, cosplay {dressing up like your favorite characters} and nerd crafts. But I’ve been writing a lot about how I’m Figuring Out My Place In Time And Space. I am also currently writing my first book, a memoir, entitled 100 Cups Of Coffee. My memoir is inspired by my favorite show Futurama and starring my divorce, the process of becoming single and falling in love again, all with a little help from my friends and of course coffee!

NOW some quick fire questions!

Q: If you were a dessert what would you be and why?

A: Pie! In LA there are so many wonderful pie shops! I would go to my favorite Republic Of Pie in North Hollywood every week!

Q: What would the name of your debut album be?

A: Pie In My Purse. This actually happened the other day. I might have a problem.

Q: What is your favorite quote?

A: “You’ve always had the power my dear, you just had to learn it for yourself.” – The Wizard of Oz

Q: What is your favorite book, movie and song?

A: The Harry Potter series, Interview With A Vampire and favorite song right now….The Sound by The 1975.

Q:What is something other people might not know about you?

A: I’ve always wanted to be a ballerina! It wasn’t until I reached my late 20s and a good friend convinced me to take my first ballet class, that I was hooked! I love the structure, relaxation, gracefulness and finally beginning to learn pointe! I am beginning my search for a Denver studio and cannot wait to continue with my childhood dream!
